It was the kind of evening every writer dreams about: I got to read from my Amazing Graces story, “Burrow,” answer questions, and sign copies of the anthology. I was joined by my fellow author-panelists Patricia Morningstar, Colleen Kearney Rich, and Laura Ellen Scott. Patricia and I were already friends and former workshop mates, which made the night even more fun. Amazing Graces editor extraordinaire Richard Peabody spoke about the anthology, part of the Grace and Gravity series of writing by women in the Washington, DC area. I think by now I’ve read every anthology in the series, printed by Paycock Press, and over time have met lots of the authors. It really is special to be part of this group of women writers.
To top it off, our reading was graciously hosted by One More Page, in Falls Church. One More Page is an indie bookstore to fall in love with — if you’re in the Northern Virginia area, be sure to check it out. They even sell chocolate and wine to take home with your literary morsels — perfection!
